Don Meredith, Danny White, Tony Romo, and Dak Prescott

Four Cowboys quarterbacks that had solid careers, but none ever got to a Super Bowl unlike the two Hall of Famers in that franchise’s history.

Which one is the best of the four in your opinion?

All of them disappointed in postseason but I feel White was the best winner of them all ... at least he and Meredith got the team to league/conference championship games. Romo was the best athlete ...

Its a very interesting question as Meredith got the team to back to back NFL Championship games while White got them to back to back to back NFC championship games, in terms of talent (given their respect eras) I would go with Meredith-especially considering both GB losses were very close

Romo (previous Cowboys all time passing stats leader) and Prescott (current leader in all those categories) were talented but also benefited from pass friendly era they played in

on a site note with Meredith, Staubach, White, Aikman, Romo, Prescott you almost have a continuous successful QB in Dallas since 1960s...60 years+ not sure any franchise can match that, and if you put together a top 4, or top 5 or top 6 list of franchise QBs I am not so sure any franchise can top Dallas, but a few might come close to top 4 or 5 (GB, 49ers)

Good point, but I think the 49ers beat the Cowboys in this regard. From their beginning in 1946, they had Frankie Albert, then Y.A. Tittle, then John Brodie, then (after a gap of about five years) Joe Montana, and then Steve Young. That's three Hall of Famers against two for the Cowboys, and the guys who didn't make the Hall, Albert and Brodie, both had MVP seasons -- Albert in the AAFC, but still.

Also, just for the record, the 49ers won championships with Montana and Young, and reached the AAFC championship game with Albert, a playoff game for the NFL western division title with Tittle, and two consecutive NFC championship games with Brodie.

There was a lot of ugliness in the years between Aikman and Romo, though.

I'm taking Prescott because I think he's flat out the best of the bunch, and I believe the Cowboys are NFC Championship bound this year.

We all seem to forget that Craig Morton actually won a conference championship, unlike everyone on this list. Then won another with Denver.

Cowboys fans have to speculate what might have happened had Morton led the Cowboys from behind against SF and started against Washington, but Landry felt Staubach could provide a spark which he did. Morton had a decent season when Staubach was hurt.

Morton helped the Cowboys win ten or more games in 1969, 1970 and 1972.
