Shoulda been the other way around. McDermott did the best job he could with the roster he was given. Collecting random castoffs from other teams for Josh to throw to wasn't going to work.Brian wolf wrote: ↑Mon Jan 19, 2026 11:20 am And now the Bills have moved on from McDermott ... Beane keeps his job however ...

Even this postseason with the #1 pass defense, the Bills still couldnt hold a team under 30 points. An underachieving postseason defense finally did him in. I thought with the teams effort, much less injuries, he had saved his job.
This is why I felt Harbaugh could get this, the GB or Miami jobs but instead of waiting, he jumped at the opportunity to coach the Giants. The Bills probably felt they needed Beane to transition into the new stadium. Any new coach doesnt have to worry about the legacy of Rich Stadium. In a weird way, considering that McDermott brought playoff football back to Rich Stadium, he goes out with the stadium, as well. He will welcome a change of scenery soon.

Change for the sake of change is a dangerous game.
