The final regular season game in this old stadium. Can the Bills win again and hopefully get a playoff game here?
I got a little nostalgic, remembering games from this place on another post. Hopefully, older Bills fans can discuss games they remember here ...

Yes, several. We have had season tickets in my family since Rich opened. Hard to believe 50+ years have flown by ...

Re: Rich Stadium Circa 1973
Top 10 games, in chronological order.
1974 season opener: MNF against the Raiders
1980 season opener: ending the 20 game losing streak against Miami
1990 vs Denver: 20 points scored in 77 seconds to turn a 21-9 deficit into a 29-20 lead
1990 AFC Championship Game: 51-3 blowout of the Raiders
1992 Wild Card Game: Comeback from 35-3 deficit against Houston
1995 Wild Card Game: Buffalo runs for 381 yards and drive Don Shula into retirement
1998 vs Jacksonville: Doug Flutie rolls out for a 1 yard touchdown on 4th and goal
2003 season opener vs NE: 31-0 blowout. Sam Adams gets on the cover of SI
2021 Wild Card Game vs NE: the perfect offensive game
2025 season opener vs Baltimore: 16 points scored in the last 4 minutes.
Top 5 plays I witnessed in person (I've been to almost every game since the pandemic
1995 - Bruce Smith is (slightly) drawn offsides and due to a slow whistle, he in unimpeded and knocks out Boomer Esiason
1996 - Darrick Holmes carried 7 Redskins on a 19 yard run
2021 - Micah Hyde makes an impossible interception of Mac Hyde in the playoffs. The receiver was running right at me, and I "knew" that it would be a touchdown unless Jones threw a poor pass. But the receiver never broke stride, put his hands up to catch the ball.... and then Hyde swooped in.
2022 - The only negative play for Buffalo on this list. Justin Jefferson somehow catches a bomb on 4th and 18 to keep Minnesota's hopes alive. (The drive was stopped at the 1 yard line, but Josh Allen fumbled the snap with less than a minute left, and Minnesota recovered. The Vikings would eventually win the game in overtime.)
2022 - A week after Damar Hamlin died on the field and had to be revived, Nyheim Hines returns the opening kickoff for a touchdown. The stadium was unusually quiet before the game, but it absolutely erupted when Hines ran it back. (He later ran a second kickoff back for a touchdown.)
2023 - Stefon Diggs catches a short pass and eludes multiple defenders for a 53 yard touchdown to blow open a close game against the Dolphins. Miami had scored 70 points the week before, but Buffalo won 48-20.)
2024 - Tyler Bass kicks a 61 yard FG to beat Miami
2024 - Josh Allen scrambles on 4th and 2 for a 26 yard touchdown to clinch the win over the Chiefs
2024 - Josh Allen to Amari Cooper (lateral) to Josh Allen vs SF in the snow
2025 - Ed Oliver forces a Derrick Henry fumble with three minutes to play, a key play in Buffalo's 15 point comeback

Re: Rich Stadium Circa 1973
Jeffrey ... wasnt there a game at Rich Stadium, between like, 1975-77, where a fan jumped out of the stands, similar to a fan jumping out of the stands in Chicago in 1995 I think, when the Bears played GB and Favre threw a 99 yrd TD pass to Robert Brooks?

Re: Rich Stadium Circa 1973
Thanks conace21 ... some great games and moments indeed.
I hated seeing the Dolphins defense look bewildered against the Bills offense in that 1990/91 divisional playoff, but that was a fun shootout in the snow!
Dallas beating the Bills in 2007, despite the Bills intercepting 5 Tony Romo passes, running two back for TDs. They also had a kickoff return for a TD, but Nick Folk for Dallas kicked a FG that was negated, then kicked the same FG again from 53 yards to win it.
In 1973, the Bills beat the Patriots at Rich in wk 13, giving them their first winning season since 1966. Simpson ran for 219 yrds with Chandler catching Ferguson's only two completions for TDs.
In 1980, the Bills whipping the Steelers 28-13, to give them their first winning season since 1975. If I am not mistaken, Bradshaw was knocked out of the game?
In 1984, despite a terrible season, the Bills upset the Cowboys, with Greg Bell rushing for 206 yards and scoring their two TDs. This loss basically, knocks the Cowboys out of the playoffs. I watched this game and was numb, being a Cowboys fan.
In 1987, the Bills begin their mastery of the Miami Dolphins, shutting them out at home 27-0, with the secondary playing outstanding. Have to double check but the Bills would go 16-4 the rest of Don Shula's tenure with the team.
In 1990, the Bills survive a comeback against the Eagles, 30-23, with Randall Cunningham throwing an incredible 95 yard TD pass to Fred Barnett after eluding a sack from Bruce Smith. Lofton had one of his best games as a Bill.
In the 1993/94 Divisional playoffs, the Bills beat the Raiders in a thriller in bitter cold in Rich ... Kelly was outstanding, but the Raiders had their chances. I was so mad, I felt had the Raiders won, the Chiefs would have beaten them and went to the SB with Montana. Instead, the Bills knock Montana out of the Championship game with Thurman Thomas having his best game ever. Incredibly, a game where Schottenheimer kept Derrick Thomas on the bench alot!

Re: Rich Stadium Circa 1973
Two long stretches - after losing the AFL Championship Game at War Memorial to KC, Bills would have to wait 22 years until they would host a playoff game again. And then after losing to Jacksonville at Rich in '96, they'd then have to wait another 24 years until they'd host a playoff game again.Brian wolf wrote: ↑Fri Jan 02, 2026 8:47 pm After discussing Rich Stadium today, it was also the Bills first ever playoff game in that stadium that weekend. They easily dispatched the Houston Oilers. They would go 16-3 in postseason games at Rich ... unless there is another game these 2025/26 playoffs?
