Re: Two unsung winners

Bob, I treasure the article you wrote on my football hero, Don Jonas, a number of years ago.

Re: Billy Howton

Yes, the HOF definitely missed the boat on the all-time leading receiver at the time of his retirement. Howton and Del Shofner are the two senior receivers most deserving of enshrinement.

Re: Historian Lists From Recent TalkOfFameTwo

That’s really too bad. Along with the great historical content I especially enjoyed Clark’s thoughts on each week’s games.

Re: Favorite season in NFL history?

Back in the 2019 section of this thread I gave the reasons that 1967 is my favourite season. But, even before I saw Shinobi’s post above, I also wanted to give a shout out to the 68, 69 and 75 seasons. 1976 is also one of my faves.

Re: David Woodley

Besides his mobility and running ability, Shula liked Woodley's ability to help win games for the Dolphins. His starting record for Miami was 30-14-1 counting postseason. Woodley didn’t help win games. The Dolphins won in spite of him Did you even see him play or are you looking at numbers?

Re: Favorite one-year 1,000-yard rushers or receivers

Detroit’s Pat Studstill caught 67 balls for 1266 yards and was named 1st team All-Pro in 1966. It was his only 500+ yard season.
