NFL Throwback did a video last year where they asked what if the 2013 Seahawks defense tried to cover the 1998 Vikings receivers.

What do you all think of that hypothetical matchup?

I think it depends on era of the rules a little bit. Granted we saw the Legion of Boom succeed after strictly enforced illegal contact regardless.

Due to rules changes that gained momentum after the 2011 CBA, the Vikings receivers might have benefitted against this group, but it would have been tough to do alot on the Legion Of Boom. Moss had the great speed but Earl Thomas had range to double him along with Thurmond, Maxwell, Browner or Sherman. Carter had great hands but would have been covered decently unless he exposed Walter Thurmond or Byron Maxwell.

For me, Moss never liked to go over the middle though Hatchette did but the presense of Kam Chancellor would have made both receivers think twice. Carter could find the soft spots in the zones, well. Cunningham and George had the arms to get it to their receivers, but one or two bad passes would be the difference in the game.
