Any sources for CFL boxscores besides a Newspapers.com subscription
I've been trying to put together a QB game log for the CFL in the 1980's, but am encountering frustration with some of the research due to the incompleteness of boxscores found through a Newspapers.com subscription. For example: A September 7, 1985 game between Winnipeg and Ottawa lists Ottawa compl...

Re: Question on 1981 Canadian Football League
Canada's population is such that the CFL has had, at most, 9 Canadian teams. There were some US teams in the 1990's, but I digress. Anyways, it is true that the 5-11 Ottawa Rough Riders made the playoffs by virtue of finishing a distant second to the 11-4-1 Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the East Division. ...

Re: Worst-ever teams to make/win the Grey Cup?
The 2012 Argonauts team in that won the 100th Grey Cup was 9-9 in the regular season and had a -46 point differential. A hall-of-fame QB in Ricky Ray to be sure and a (now) hall-of-fame MOP receiver in Chad Owens, but the defense was inconsistent that year from what I remember. They lost 44-32 to a ...

Re: Hard To Find Info Online
With respect to CFL boxscores, your best bet is, unfortunately, a subscription to a newspaper archive site. That's not unfortunate! That's some of the best money I spend every year! :) Here are the 1976 East and West finals, for starters. https://i.postimg.cc/J0n7Wcp9/1976-cfl-east-west-finals.jpg ...

Re: What happened to Pro Football Archives?
Thank you for maintaining the site for so long!
It is sad to see it go because it was one of the few sources for CFL stats.

Re: Damon Allen vs. Marcus Allen
I felt Joe Gilliam for the Steelers, had as much talent as Williams or Harris but couldnt get his career going. Evans wasnt an NFL QB but how well did he play in the CFL ? I don't recall Vince Evans ever playing in the CFL. I remember him playing in the USFL. We might be thinking of Johnny Evans? H...

Re: Madden Passes
Imagine how much money he made off his world-wide popular video games ? Madden signed a $150-million agreement with EA Sports several years ago that allows the company to use his name and likeness in perpetuity. In addition to that huge haul, he drew an estimated $2 million a year in royalties. But...

1991 Detroit Lions
I was watching something on YouTube about Herman Moore yesterday and it got me thinking of the 12-4 1991 Detroit Lions. Their win over Dallas in the NFC Divisional is their only playoff win in the Super Bowl era. Obviously, they had one of the best running backs in Barry Sanders, but what made this ...

Re: Favorite CFL uniforms
Jim Young was actually a part of a rare "trade" between NFL and CFL teams. Joe Kapp went the other way.
