Re: 1976 Expansion Draft

How many players were unprotected by team so that the Seahawks and Buccaneers could pick the players? On a similar note, did Jim Zorn and BIll Munson were on the Expansion Draft and were picked by Seattle, or were traded like Steve Largent? I also read many years ago that Ahmad Rashad was picked by ...

Re: An NFL Films Program I would like to watch but can’t find

I remember a program of NFL Films Presents (sadly, I catched it late, alreadyt began) when they interviewed their cameramen, and they shown bad shots (out of focuis, people crossing, etc.) and also the great shots we know. I thought it was very interesting the program. Does anyone remember that epis...

Re: Question on 1981 Canadian Football League

Happy New Year! There is an indication that after finishing their regular season 3-13 the Montreal Alouettes lost an Eastern Conference semi-final playoff game 20-16 to the Ottawa Rough Riders. How did a team with such a poor regular season record qualify for the playoffs? Thank you. Nick The Toron...

Re: 1976 Oilers

Always a tough team during those years but not enough offensive playmakers other than Burrough and Johnson on special teams. I will always wonder what Jimmie Giles or Steve Largent could have done for this team, but Bum liked to run the ball. Jimmie Giles was traded along four draft picks to the Bu...

Re: Thoughts on '90 NYG@SF MNF and upcoming KC@Rams

PS - I ask you, Gary, what do you think of MONTERREY having an NFL franchise (maybe they and Mexico City being division-rivals)? Home of Tecate Beer (plain, straight-to-the-point/nothing fancy/no-frills/'lawnmower' beer; how I like)! Football fans in Monterrey are great. For the record, last year t...

Re: 2025 Hall of Very Good Election Results

I picked 7 of the 10. The three I chose who were not elected are Donaldson, Kopcha and Parratt. Congratulations to all inducted, as always a strong class.

Re: 1,000-yard streaks

I remember that Tony Dorsett was the first to gain 1,000 yardas in his first five seasons, but in the very next season the 1982 strike came and cancelled 7 games, erasing the posiibility for Dorsett to continue the streak and others (like Earl Campbell) to achieving it. I remember the first time so...

Re: Most "bipolar" team ever?

1985 Lions - Beat four playoff teams (Dallas, San Francisco, Miami, N.Y. Jets), but only had a 7-9 record. 1985 Cowboys - Had that famous 44-0 loss against Chicago, at Cincinnati scored on them 50 points, but they were able to beat the Redskins and the Giants all 4 times, and won the NFC East, only ...

Re: Antonio Brown

If you base induction on talent alone, Brown is a slam dunk. However, with all his off-the-field, and personality issues, I can see him not being inducted. There are definitely guys who aren't in based on what they did off-the-field who were really good. As I understand it that would be Jim Tyrer, ...
