Interesting.
Thanks.
One question: For 1969, are the rankings for the separate leagues or the AFL/NFL combined?
In other words, were the Chiefs #2 in the AFL or #2 in the NFL and AFL combined?
(And if just for the AFL who was #1 in the AFL?)
And likewise for the (#1) Vikings?

Having last coached in 2017 Fox won't be eligible till 2043.
As always (for me) it depends on who else is on the ballot... There are other coaches I might put ahead of him but maybe by '43 they'll already be in.

Re: Charley Brock article
...I never knew Brock was such an excellent defender. Not to plug any particular author but I've read Chris Willis' The NFL's 60-Minute Men from cover to cover four times and it is a treasure chest full of knowledge on players like Brock from the two-way era of NFL history. (Cliff's article is grea...

Re: 2025 Wild Card Weekend
I've been amazed the 49ers have done so well despite so many injuries. What are the odds they keep it rolling now that Kittle is out? Does anyone objectively think they can reach the Super Bowl? Of course, their wins were much earlier in the season (before many of the cataclysmic injuries hit) but t...

Re: Coaches and GM's who will be fired - 2025 Season
Wow ... Harbaugh is out in Baltimore. I didnt think it would happen but this team simply underachieves too much. Who could they replace him with? Tomlin, if he was embarrased in another playoff game? One thing I learned (the hard way) in business is that before you fire someone you have (at least i...

...you cant let a guy's words get to you ... Generally speaking I agree. And I've never been a violent person (except on the football field) or gone looking for a fight (especially on the football field) but I will stand up for me and mine (people, not property). There is a legal term called "...

Re: 2025 QB Carousel
...Metcalf in Cleveland but he screwed up big time... What Metcalf did was reprehensible but the NFL allowing a fan's intentional, criminal act to alter the course of a season isn't good, either. I can still see the glee on that fan's face for knowing that there would be consequences for the Steele...

Re: 2025 QB Carousel
Others may disagree JJ, but I feel Shanahan is COTY. Not only getting more out of Jones but keeping this team at a high level despite so many injuries. The defense is tough and resourseful but cant get to QB. The Bears should have won last night but didnt get the ball in the endzone. Purdy and the ...

Re: Dallas vs Cleveland in the late 60s
Good thread. Just one man's thoughts -I think the Browns had a lot of solid players? I think 1973 was their first losing season. End Gary Collins and DB Erich Barnes - Hall of the Very Good, Defensive End Jack Gregory and K Don Cockcroft, linebacker Jim Houston, Center Fred Hoaglin, End Milt Morin ...
