Re: Wayne Walker (Detroit Lion linebacker)

I remember voting for him somewhere along the line so he has been considered for the HoVG. Heck, I might have even nominated him (at least once). I suggest, if you feel strongly about him, you nominate Walker yourself this season. There's only one way to find out how he'd fare this time around and t...

Re: Argument for Jim Kelly being the 'best' of the Class of '83

I had season tickets to the USFL's Oakland Invaders. It was at an Invaders game that I saw one of the two best passes thrown that I ever saw "live." Oakland wore UCLA colors and on this play the pass rush had surrounded the opposing QB. It looked like a huddle and all I could see was sky b...

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency And Transactions

And the Raiders now have 4 first round picks over the next two years (so far, at least).
Add that to Ashton Jeanty and All-Pro Brock Bowers and they have a decent chance at being in the running a few years from now.

Re: Forty yard dash

I'm by no means an expert but I've always thought the most important "speed" in the game was reaction time and the first few steps after one has determined where they need to be. I think it also depends entirely on your position. A receiver needs different speed attributes than a pulling g...

Re: Jim Plunkett VS Eli Manning

For what it's worth, Plunkett was the Sporting News and UPI Rookie of the year for 1971 and AP Offensive RoY 2 (behind John Brockington). His best year with New England (the team that drafted him) was 1974 in which he went 7-7 as a starter. He didn't have great success in his "early years"...

Re: 2026 Hall of Very Good Nominations

Charlie Brock did make it into the HoVG this year with 37 votes. Peggy Parratt (and Ray Donaldson) did not as they each had 36 votes. It was a smaller turnout last year than in the several years previous and goes to show how one vote can make all the difference. So make sure to vote (in all the elec...

Re: 2026 Hall of Very Good Nominations

I think the case of Christensen (and Latone) is an excellent example of how research and posting on our forum can eventually lead to the induction of an individual in our Hall. "Tanks and Spartans" led the way with early, informative posts and he and others pressed their cases and, after a...

Re: Seahawks for Sale

"I'd buy that for a dollar!" -- Robocop ... yep, if they let me pay one dollar a day, maybe I can own it after 9 million days? Seriously, if the team sells for 9 million, fans/taxpayers should never allow any politicians/officials to ever propose taxpayer funding for any new or renovated ...
