Re: "Name the Game" trivia
Reviving this fun thread.... Only 3 clues because this one might be easy. (for those who have a stathead account) - This was the first NFL regular season game played in this stadium. - The winning team completed a 99 yard TD pass. - The losing team's head coach is in the PFHOF. Good one Chris! http...

Re: 2026 Hall of Fame Seniors - Last 52 Ranked by Position Group
I dont feel Seifert or the team believed that Craig's knee could recover properly. After eight years, bitter reality had set in, the Niners were gonna give up on him a year early than a year late. Like Foreman, Holmes, Davis, Sims and Andrews, it seemed to end too soon. The word around here was tha...

Re: Notable Steelers/Lions games
That string of scoreless victories was finally broken on November 4, by the Pittsburgh Pirates (soon to become the Steelers) on a trick-play punt return in which Harp Vaughn fielded the kick then lateraled the ball across the field to Joe Skladany who ran the ball in for a touchdown. It wasn't a pu...

Re: Antonio Brown
Ray Lewis is in the HOF. They clearly did not take into account his off-the-field history. It's been clearly established that Ray Lewis never held a knife on the night those two men were stabbed. Any crime committed by Ray occurred only after the stabbings occurred. That's not akin to a murder/suic...

Re: Antonio Brown
If you base induction on talent alone, Brown is a slam dunk. However, with all his off-the-field, and personality issues, I can see him not being inducted. There are definitely guys who aren't in based on what they did off-the-field who were really good. As I understand it that would be Jim Tyrer, ...

Re: Greatest Performances Against The Greatest Teams
James Wilder ran for 166 yards (at 6.1 yards per carry) against the 1985 Bears. Jimmy Smith caught 15 passes for 291 yards and 3 TDs against the 2000 Ravens. The 2001 Ravens weren't as great, but didn't have much drop-off.... until Brett Favre carved them up. He completed almost 80% of his passes fo...

Re: Class Of 2026 Modern Preliminary List
I think Brees is a slam dunk. I predict he will be in this year as a first ballot inductee. Eli's candidacy may go further this year, he could receive more love and push from the media. I don't think so, if the voters remain consistent (which is a big if.) There were 10 players who made the cut fro...

Re: OJ Simpson vs Steel Curtain in 1975
Heck, that wasn't even O.J.'s longest run against the Steelers. In 1972, he had a 94 yard touchdown run against Pittsburgh. They weren't quite the Steel Curtain yet, but they were still an excellent defense that year.

Re: Jimmy Johnson's eye for talent
Unfortunately for Dolphins fans, Johnson didnt keep Irving Fryar in 1996, choosing former Philly receiver, Fred Barnett, who Fryar would replace. Barnett stayed injured in Miami. Fryar and the Eagles faced Miami in 1996. Fryar caught four touchdowns that day from Ty Detmer, and Philadelphia beat Mi...
