Re: Steelers/Bears history in-general (formerly '1980: Bears at Steelers, Week #4')

With the perspective of history, the most important game in Steelers Bear history was the 17 all game on November 24, 1963. This was at Forbes Field in Pittsburgh, two days after the killing of President Kennedy. I can still see Steeler offensive line demolish the Bears defensive line on Dick Hoak's...

One of the Biggest Losses Ever 2025 Dallas

Yesterday's game was the worst I have felt since the 2008 NFC Title Game. No team can continue with this kind of sluggish offense and expect to win. The Eagles just could not move the ball consistently after the first quarter and that put too much pressure on the defense. Barkeley was awful and the ...

Eagles defeated Green Bay & Detroit

This were tight games and the Eagles ran their record to 8-2. They cannot, however, keep winning with low scoring. It will catch up with them before the season ends. We had six game winning streaks in both 1991 and 2009. They left points on the field at least three games in each streak. Then Dallas ...

Re: I liked last night's game -Phi-GB

It was like the football we had back in the early 70s. After the 1973 season, the NFL made many rules to de-empathize both the defense and the kicking game. The game last night was still exciting because of the crip play of the lineman from both teams. The only complaint for me was the fumble from J...

Re: Games with deceptive final scores

Reference to the Steelers-Cowboys Super Bowl in January of 1979, Jackie Smith dropped what would have been the tying touchdown. Trailing 21 to 14, Dallas had to settle for a field goal.

Need Help Seeking Answers Eagles 1991

One of the greatest misfires in NFL history was the 1991 Philadelphia Eagles, at 10-6, not making the playoffs. The losses to Tampa Bay and New Orleans in October were the games that really hurt. 13 to 6 to the Saints at the Vet and 14 to 13 on the road at Tampa. The Eagles should have been 12-4 and...

Re: Best Buddy Parker Steeler squad?

In 1963, Pittsburgh could easily have been 11-3 but for some bad breaks. Their actual record was 7-4-3. All three ties were winnable. There was a one point loss at St. Louis.

Re: Best Buddy Parker Steeler squad?

The tie with the Bears at 17 was at Forbes Field. Mike Ditka broke about five tackles after catching a pass which led to a field goal.

Re: Coaches and GM's who will be fired - 2025 Season

A change is definitely needed in Pittsburgh. It's been 15 years since the team was in the Super Bowl. He has not had a losing season but that's simply not good enough to hold a job. This team never drew big in Pittsburgh prior to the 70s and those days may return. Fire Mike Tomlin.

Re: The Decline of Punting

In the past few years, playing defense has become much more difficult. Rule changes have generally been in favor of offense. Teams figure the opponent will move the ball anyway. Once you are at midfield it's best just to got for the first down especially in short yardage situations. The other reason...
