Re: John Fox -- HOVG?
Brandon is such an odd case. Absolute superstar talent in all phases, including one of the best blocking WRs I've ever seen, with Muhsin Muhammad, Larry Fitzgerald, Hines Ward, and T.O. Probably some modern ones I'm not thinking of but those are the five that come to mind. Equally adept as a deep th...

Re: Matthew Stafford: HOVG, or HOF?
We're in full "what if" mode here, yet one that is highly possible: What if Matthew Stafford wins MVP, then wins the Super Bowl, then retires? Let's give him SB MVP too. His ranks in the second tier of QBs of his era: SB wins * Eli, Roethlisberger, STAFFORD - 2 * Wilson - 1 SB MVP * Eli - ...

Re: John Fox -- HOVG?
Quality coach whose Bears tenure was more successful than the record and reputation, at least in my opinion, as I once argued with a colleague: https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2017/12/13/16772896/chicago-bears-john-fox-marc-trestman-worst-coaches-history-mitchell-trubisky-jay-cutler-debate-nfl Who...

Belichick, Reid... then who for Canton?
With Mike Tomlin resigning today and the Ravens firing John Harbaugh, I'm curious to hear who everyone views as the next head coach for Canton, removing Bill Belichick and Andy Reid. Clark Judge asked historians in 2023 which active coach would we induct other than Reid, and our answer (including my...

Re: Matthew Stafford: HOVG, or HOF?
Stafford probably lost out on the MVP late in the year, which hurts him, but I imagine he'll get one of the two All Pro slots with Maye. More importantly, he won a passing title and TD title, and finished 2nd in passer rating. So a near triple crown. Updated comparisons with his peers: LEAGUE LEADER...

Simple Jack ... Craig injured his knee in 1990 his eigth season. He came back to finish the year but just hung on his final three seasons, a shell of his former self. He actually looks like Chuck Foreman and had baically, the same career, though Craig was bigger in the SB games Thanks Brian. I know...

Re: Matthew Stafford: HOVG, or HOF?
I think Roethlisberger is right in the middle, and I note that I have trouble pushing him because I think his rape allegations are real. Setting that aside, as voters are asked to do, I would be fine electing him and holding back the others, because I think he was a winner. Rookie year, took over a ...
